Plaque on your Teeth, means plaque on your arteries.... -Dr. Pradip Jamnadas, MD

Plaque on your Teeth, means plaque on your arteries.... -Dr. Pradip Jamnadas, MD

All the people frustrated by our current health care, food and body care products- please stand up... Please stand up...

I can literally see all of us simultaneously standing up in my mind's eye. Part of me is laughing because it seems like for once we are all on the same page. The rest of me is frustrated these toxic chemicals are STILL in our food and body care products.

A reminder of just a few....

And despite the literature, substantial number of lawsuits and double-blind placebo studies showing their harm- these chemicals are still "generally recognized as safe."

I'm just as frustrated as you, and I have been obsessed now for years trying to figure out how to do my part to heal myself and others.

Here's the good news. With information and technology- we now have access to all the same articles and information as the people with the degrees. So, let's start using our resources.

One of the best things we can do for our bodies, that I've found, is start with what we are putting into our mouths. The mouth is essentially the "entry way" to our insides.

I recently heard something profound from a lecture of a very knowledgeable cardiologist by the name of Dr. Pradip Jamnadas, MD.

He said, If you have plaque on your teeth, there is plaque in your arteries. The lecture was about... you guessed it... gut health! Wait- Gut health??? Yep. A cardiologist talking about gut health. Sounds odd, right? Well not if you think holistically. Hippocrates (the father of medicine)- stated, "all disease begins in the gut".  And there are loads of books and research to support this.

So, since my mission started years ago, I have always wanted to formulate a tooth powder.  One without fluoride, that cleans well but isn't too abrasive. And of course, it would need to whiten because we love our coffee here. ;)

It's important to note I looked into making it a paste at first, but there didn't seem to be an eco-friendly, detergent (SLS) free way of doing it.

So, I figured I would try as many brands as possible to see if I could get some ideas on how to formulate my own... I came across tooth tabs! What a great idea! I feel like I tried all the brands out there, but none of them really left my mouth feeling super clean. Or I would end up having to use 2 or 3 tabs to get a full clean mouth.  I found one brand that was pretty good, but after a few purchases they seemed to change their formula where it just wasn't effective anymore.

I've been tinkering with this formula for over a year now. And finally, after hours and hours of mixing ingredients together- I have now up with a balanced formulation of clays, mct oil, activated charcoal, peppermint, clove and the star of the show Hydroxyapatite! Fun Fact: Hydroxyapatite has been clinically shown to remove more biofilm from the mouth.

So, what is Biofilm? Biofilm in the mouth is a sticky icky layer of bacteria - (often referred to as plaque), which can cause problems like cavities and gum disease. If not properly removed; it forms a complex community of microorganisms embedded in a sticky substance, potentially damaging tooth enamel and irritating gum tissue when left untreated...

This formulation will leave your mouth feeling refreshed and clean. It has just the right amount of activated charcoal to whiten your smile, but not mess up your sink and toothbrush. I hope you love it as much as I do! And as always, if you have any questions - I'm always here. <3 Molly
